Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Day 1: Day 1: Arrival in Riyadh – City Tour & Diriyah
Morning – Afternoon (Upon Arrival):
Arrive at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Meet your driver-guide and begin your Saudi Arabian adventure.
Afternoon (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM):
Embark on a city tour of Riyadh. Visit the Masmak Fortress, a 150-year-old mud-brick fortress that played a pivotal role in the Kingdom's history. Continue to the King Abdul Aziz Historical Area, home to the National Museum of Saudi Arabia and the stunning Murabba Palace. View the contrasting modern landmarks—the futuristic Al Faisaliah and Kingdom Towers, symbols of Riyadh's rapid development.
Late Afternoon (5:30 PM – 7:00 PM):
Drive to Al Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the original home of the Saudi royal family. Explore the mud-brick city and its restored palaces, nestled in a fertile valley along the Hanifa River.
Evening (8:00 PM):
Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Riyadh.
Day 2: Day 2: Day 2: Riyadh – Edge of the World
Morning (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
Depart Riyadh for a journey into the desert. Head to the Red Sand Dunes, where you can experience the beauty of the desert landscape. Enjoy optional activities such as camel rides or quad biking.
Midday (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM):
Enjoy a packed lunch in the desert setting.
Afternoon – Evening (2:30 PM – 7:00 PM):
Continue to the Edge of the World (Jebel Fihrayn), a dramatic escarpment on the Tuwaiq Plateau. Embark on a scenic hike along the cliff edge, taking in the breathtaking views over the vast Arabian plains. Stay for the unforgettable sunset, as the sky transforms into a canvas of gold and orange.
Evening (8:30 PM):
Return to Riyadh. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Day 3: Day 3: Riyadh – Transfer to Ha'il – AlUla
Morning (8:00 AM – 9:00 AM):
Check out of the hotel. Transfer to Riyadh Airport for a domestic flight to Ha'il.
Late Morning – Afternoon (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM):
Arrive in Ha'il, a city with a rich history as a trading centre. Visit Al Arif Fort, a hilltop landmark built with mud and clay, offering great views over the city. Depending on your itinerary, continue by road to AlUla (approximately 3-4 hours), with a stop at the UNESCO site of Jubbah to see ancient rock carvings dating back to 5,500 BC.
Late Afternoon – Evening (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM):
Arrive in the AlUla region. Check into your hotel, set against the backdrop of the dramatic desert landscape.
Evening (8:00 PM):
Dinner and overnight stay in AlUla.
Day 4: Day 4: Day 4: AlUla – Hegra, Dedan & Elephant Rock
Morning (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
Discover Hegra (Madain Saleh), Saudi Arabia's first UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient Nabataean city is the sister city of Petra in Jordan and features over 90 monumental tombs carved into the rock formations. Explore the intricately carved facades, including the famous Qasr al-Farid, a towering tomb carved from a single rock.
Midday (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM):
Enjoy lunch in AlUla.
Afternoon (2:30 PM – 5:00 PM):
Visit the ancient oasis of Dedan, an important site from the Lihyanite and Dadanite civilisations. Afterwards, visit the iconic Elephant Rock, a massive geological formation that resembles an elephant with its trunk touching the ground—a perfect spot for photos.
Evening (8:00 PM):
Dinner. Optional stargazing experience in the desert, taking advantage of AlUla's dark skies. Overnight stay in AlUla.
Day 5: Day 5: Day 5: AlUla – Medina
Morning (8:00 AM – 10:00 AM):
Enjoy a final morning in AlUla. Visit the Old Town AlUla, exploring its winding alleyways and mud-brick architecture. See the Hejaz Railway Station, part of the historic Ottoman railway line, famously associated with T.E. Lawrence of Arabia.
Late Morning – Midday (10:30 AM – 1:00 PM):
Drive from AlUla to Medina (approximately 4-5 hours). The route follows the historic Hejaz Railway track.
Afternoon (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM):
Arrive in Medina, the second holiest city in Islam. Check into your hotel near the Prophet's Mosque.
Evening (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM):
Visit Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (The Prophet's Mosque) for evening prayers. Experience the profound tranquillity of this sacred site.
Evening (8:30 PM):
Dinner and overnight stay in Medina.
Day 6: Day 6: Day 6: Medina – Islamic Sites Tour – Jeddah
Morning (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
After breakfast, visit significant Islamic landmarks. Begin with Masjid Quba, the first mosque built in Islamic history. Continue to Masjid Al-Qiblatayn, the Mosque of the Two Qiblas, where the direction of prayer was changed from Jerusalem to Mecca. Visit Jannat al-Baqi, the historic cemetery where many companions of the Prophet are buried. Drive up to Mount Uhud, the site of the historic battle, and pay respects at the Martyrs' Cemetery.
Midday (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM):
Lunch in Medina.
Afternoon (2:30 PM – 5:30 PM):
Check out and drive from Medina to Jeddah (approximately 4 hours). The journey crosses the Hejaz region.
Evening (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM):
Arrive in Jeddah, the vibrant city on the Red Sea coast. Check into your hotel and enjoy dinner.
Day 7: Day 7: Day 7: Jeddah – Al-Balad & Departure
Morning (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
Explore Al-Balad, Jeddah's historic old town and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through the narrow lanes, admire the traditional coral-stone merchant houses with their ornate wooden balconies, and visit Souq Al Alawi, Saudi Arabia's largest market. Here you can shop for authentic wares and sample traditional street food.
Midday (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM):
Enjoy a final Saudi lunch, perhaps with a view of the Red Sea.
Afternoon (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM):
Drive along Jeddah's Corniche, a 30-kilometre waterfront with a stunning collection of sculptures and views across the Red Sea. Visit the iconic Floating Mosque for a final photo stop.
Evening:
Transfer to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah for your onward flight, marking the end of your 7-day exploration of the Kingdom
