Hajj is the annual Islamic pilgrimage and one of the Five Pillars of Islam, performed during the month of Dhul Hijjah. It is obligatory for every Muslim who is physically and financially able to perform it at least once. Umrah is a non-mandatory pilgrimage that can be performed any time of the year and is often called the "lesser pilgrimage."
Hajj applications should ideally be submitted 6–12 months in advance as Uganda's Hajj quota fills quickly. We recommend contacting us as soon as you intend to go. We handle all registration paperwork with the Uganda Hajj and Umrah Commission (UHAC).
Yes! Umrah can be performed any time throughout the year. However, Ramadan Umrah is considered especially meritorious, equivalent in reward to performing Hajj alongside the Prophet (PBUH) according to some Hadith.
